The 2022 off-season was an interesting time in baseball, with different deals and contract extensions happening. But during the season a few teams made some exchanges to strengthen their roster before the trade deadline. One such case was when the Washington Nationals traded Juan Soto to the San Diego Padres in August 2022. The 24-year-old had been playing with them since his MLB debut and lived in Arlington, Virginia for a while.
Many of his teammates got extended deals after the last season was over, but fans are still waiting to hear if Soto will continue to play for the Friars. The Dominican player’s raw talent has been visible each time he’s stepped on the field. So staying with the Padres will benefit both mutually, and the team is deep-pocketed enough to afford his skills. And even though there has been no official confirmation, a recent piece of news gave fans some hope.

Devine Sports Gospel recently reported that Soto just bought a house in a gated community in Coronado. The city is only 20 mins away from San Diego, where the star currently plays. From the looks of it, Soto might be planning to spend a long time in the Bay Area then.

Buying a house is not an easy decision, even for athletes with big paychecks.

What’s more, it was reported last month that Soto was looking to sell his Virginia house for $1.1M. And it may be for the simple reason that his new team is on a different coast and travel is expensive. But this new house still signals a major change that may make fans happy.
Baseball fans are hoping for good news from the Padres
The regular season is almost upon us, so now would be the time to tell fans whether Soto is getting an extension or not. Baseball fans want it but are scared to get their hopes up.

Some are skeptical and think this doesn’t necessarily mean an extension is in the works.
Or maybe he just doesn’t want to deal with rentals for two years ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe, he can easily sell it in 2 years
