Prior to Soto’s recent comments, New York appeared to be the frontrunner to acquire him for 2025. Perhaps, the Yanks’ financial muscle and Soto’s appreciation for the electric Bronx atmosphere fit well. But now, a new layer of complexity has risen.

Now the Yankees, located on the East Coast, could still be a better option than any other suitors. This proximity would play a part considering his close relationship with his family, more so with his mother, who used to bring him food during his time in Washington.
