Monday was something to be happy about for the Mets star Juan Soto, as he finally managed to post a two-run homer for the first time in 2025 against the Minnesota Twins. While it may sound like a good thing for the Mets, this time, the spotlight is on something different. It’s not about his performance; instead, it centers around the statement Juan Soto made about his former teammate, Aaron Judge. What did he say?
This may come as a surprise to many, but Juan Soto has finally revealed the impact after leaving the New York Yankees. Yesterday, Soto was the hero of the game, driving home runs to secure a win against the Twins. However, what’s making headlines is not about how he played but the way he is being pitched nowadays. So, what exactly happened?
Juan Soto’s confession reveals a surprising fact about Aaron Judge, the New York Yankees superstar. While he talked about how different it has been for him since he left the Yankees, there’s something more. To clarify, it was Soto who previously said that he was the best hitter. Upon further probing, he said Freddie Freeman, making no mention of Aaron Judge.

But recently, Soto opened up about how much of a luxury it was when getting pitched with Aaron Judge behind him. According to a post by Rod, also known as the tribal chief of Yankees’ fan pages, he said, “It’s definitely different. I had the best hitter in baseball (Judge) hitting behind me last season, and I was getting more attacks and more pitches in the strike zone. I was pitched differently last year.”

Soto also talked about how the approach of pitchers has been quite different from before without Judge behind him. We all know the value that pitchers hold in MLB. And it seems like the All-Star outfielder is still waiting for pitchers to attack. He added, “I would say I am getting a decent amount of strikes, but there’s some specific situations where pitchers don’t attack. “ But that’s not going to happen so easily. Soto probably needs to accept the fact that every team plays differently, and similarly, he will also have to embrace the way it is.
Soto’s been performing quite well, with a good batting average of .250. Combine that with a .400 OBP, a .429 OPS, 4 doubles, 6 RBIs, and 14 walks across his 70 appearances at the plate. On the other hand, though, Aaron Judge has also sent a strong message to Soto after the Yankees’ unique record. What is it?
What’s your perspective on:
Is Aaron Judge truly the 'best hitter in baseball,' or is Soto just missing the Yankees' lineup?

Aaron Judge breaks his silence on Soto after the Yankees make history
The Yankees’ former slugger, Juan Soto, used to hit in front of Aaron Judge until the last season, when he left them for the Mets. However, putting everything aside, be it the reason for his exit or anything else, the Yankees haven’t had any problem losing him yet. Aaron Judge has been performing exceptionally well, as he went 4-for-6 against the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday, hitting a three-run homer along with 8 RBIs and a double. Now, when asked about Juan Soto, Judge said, “Nobody can replace Soto. He’s one of a kind, but I think with the guys we added, we were able to fill some holes that we probably had last year.”

Despite Soto’s departure, Aaron Judge didn’t take away his greatness, mentioning how he was a crucial part of the team. However, he also talked about the addition of players like Paul Goldschmidt and Cody Bellinger, along with Jasson Dominguez. With the inclusion of these players, the New York Yankees have been doing great and they hope to continue the good form in the upcoming games as well.
