The dream for the MLB World Series is big, the stakes are high, and so is the need for everything that makes it possible to relive. This is true with Juan Soto too, who is looking for his second, this year with the New York Yankees. Given the run, the most coveted baseball team has this season, the new Yankee star might achieve it. However, Soto is not the only one in this race. The rivals from Toronto City, the Blue Jays, have a similar dream and are looking to sync with the star outfielder for that.
Notably, the two-time champions have struggled to do well lately. Having made it to the playoffs in two consecutive seasons, they have a poor 2024 as they failed to make an impact and finished last in AL East. It was certainly a setback for them. But the Jays are ready to change this and are eyeing free agency-bound Soto as a solution for the future as revealed by Soto’s friend.

There are secrets, rumors, gossip, and sometimes it’s a mix of all. This looks to be the case here as the postseason is nearing the end and the start of another frenzy of free agency with multiple stars in the fray. It includes the prominent one, Juan Soto, who is currently on a year contract worth 31 million dollars with the Yankees. Having averaged 0.288 and scored 41 HRs at an OPS of 0.989, he is in unbelievable demand, with multiple teams eyeing him. It looks like the Toronto Blue Jays can become part of this.
According to an NJ.com report, a fellow Scott Boras agent and Soto’s friend feel the Blue Jays will bid high for the right fielder. He shared, “Look for the Blue Jays to make an astronomical offer,” He further explained, “The Blue Jays think Soto would be perfect for their lineup and team. I know their management thinks Soto and Guerrero for them would be what Soto and (Aaron) Judge were like this year for the Yankees.”

Surprising! But it can be true. Although the Jays failed this season, Vladimir Guerrero Jr was a class apart. He averaged 0.323 this season with 103 RBIs and 30 HRs. No, he is not entirely similar to Aaron Judge, but can play the role of Judge, where Soto may have a say. Who says no to the offer if that comes with handsome money?

Will Juan Soto's potential move to the Blue Jays spell doom for the Yankees' World Series dreams?

There is no hiding that Soto is likely to earn big with projections terming his next contract value of 500 million dollars. Certainly, money is not everything but if you get a team that has made it to the playoffs 3 out of the last five seasons, there is no harm. And if it gets you a squad, where your impact can be massive, it’s a plus.
Juan Soto knows this too and can choose this way to fulfill his World Series aspiration if the New York Yankees fail this time. Moreover, Hal Steinbrenner is looking to cut the payroll, the 2019 champion player may look for a way out with a prime package. Blue Jays who may also love to hurt their rivals with this, can certainly add more. But will this be the case? What do you think?
