Aaron Judge has stood out in the eyes of big leaguers for reasons beyond his captaincy. Not only is he a stellar player but also a positive contributor to society. With his immense sense of responsibility and character off the diamond, he was nominated for the coveted Roberto Clemente Award in September. As of today, Judge stands ‘Tall’ as the prestigious individual honor was bestowed upon him for 2023.
During his media availability, captain ‘All Rise’ was pleasantly awestruck when he saw the Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder amidst the reporters. Mookie Betts was there, featuring as a debutant journalist in a playful attempt to cheer for the New York Yankees captain. He entertained not only the other reporters but also Judge himself with his out-of-the-box questions.

What started as a refreshing exchange between the two stars of MLB became a funny runner that made it to the news. Thanks to Betts for his witty act. The Dodgers’ star asked Judge on the podium, “Did the dogs make it safely?” to which the 2017 rookie of the year responded affirmatively. He also revealed his dogs’ names, Gus and Penny. What was funnier was Betts’ follow-up questions. He said, “I got a question. So how does it feel to be the tallest Roberto Clemente award winner?” that broke the room, including Judge into laughter.

Judge made a quick correction to that question. He explained that he and the former right fielder Dave Winfield are almost of the same height. Their little back and forth was a piece of fun exchange. Further that, Judge went on to the explain his feelings about the award. Jokes aside, the 2022 American League MVP’s initiative is a respectable one.
Aaron, the 5X All-Star, founded the All Rise Foundation in 2018. It aids the youth of the nation in New York and the counties of San Joaquin and Fresno in California, which are close to his home. That said, it is worth taking a deeper look into the proceedings of All Rise Foundation.

Aaron Judge’s Achievements Outside The Diamond
As a pioneer of this foundation, the 6 feet 7 inches captain shared his mission statement. In Judge’s words, “inspiring the youth to be the next leaders of this generation and great citizens” is the way to go for All Rise. And to date, he ensures that his actions align with the statement. Apart from his contribution to MLB, his involvement in his foundation sets an example for all players out there. Yes, it is possible to excel at multiple things; Aaron Judge is a living example of that.

A few of All Rise’s contributions were funding Bridge2College, NYC Autism Charter Schools, the Edward C. Merlo Institute of Environmental Technology, the Resiliency Center of Fresno, and Birch Family Services. Making a contribution to these institutions shows his involvement in education, environmental and mental wellbeing. Apart from that, he has set up baseball camps in these institutes along with funding students to go to conferences on leadership in California.
