Few teams have had as bad injury luck as the New York Yankees this season. The Bronx Bombers have suffered from a depleted roster since the beginning of the season. They suffered multiple injury setbacks during Summer League and in the season’s early stages. But now some of their stars are returning from the injured list. Most recently, a struggling player returned with a bang but fans have had mixed reactions.

The Bronx Bombers are slowly but surely getting back to full strength as their players recover. But fans are divided as a player who struggled in 2022 makes his return with a great performance.

New York Yankees fans are divided as Josh Donaldson makes a triumphant return

Over the last couple of weeks, the Yankees have seen many players return to the roster. This includes the likes of Luis Severino, who has returned to the mound. Most recently, Josh Donaldson returned to the lineup in a triumphant manner. He smashed two home runs, showing off his power-hitting ability. But fans are divided as they do not fully believe that he is in his best form. Furthermore, some are even calling it a fluke. Fox Sports: MLB shared Donaldson’s achievements via Twitter. 

In a Tweet, they said, “In his first game since April 5th, Josh Donaldson hit 2 home runs for the Yankees tonight”. He seems to have completely shaken off any rust and gotten into a good rhythm. But fans are skeptical about him even now.

The reactions to Donaldson’s return have been divided. 

Some fans are saying that it’s a fluke.

Others have said that the Yankees lost the game and the performance didn’t matter.

But despite the somewhat negative reactions to his return, Donaldson will provide the Yankees with an extra batting option. It will be interesting to see whether he can continue playing this way and prove his doubters wrong. But during the Yankees’ most recent game, another player made his return. 

Giancarlo Stanton returns as well

Giancarlo Stanton returned to the Yankees’ lineup in their most recent game. He joined Josh Donaldson and hit a home run to mark his comeback from his injury. He got hurt in April and has been out since then. Stanton returning is welcome news for the Bronx Bombers as they get one of their most talented hitters back.
