Amidst an unfortunate feat of humiliating defeats, the New York Yankees have emerged somewhat victorious. And the team’s recent victory against the World Series champs, Houston Astros, has turned heads. But the reason for this sudden turn of tables in their favor is quite strange. Could it be a hoodoo situation? 

The Yankees management has made significant decisions regarding restructuring the team this season. The noise from the fans and continuous losses propelled them to get back on track. Things seem optimistic for the Yankees, and some believe the curse has been lifted.

The 2023 season was more than a disaster for Bronx Bombers. Although the team experienced many blows ranging from injuries of top players to crooked management, the team is up and running as it should. One might think, what did the Yankees do differently? Well, it is tough to ignore that since the team released Josh Donaldson, the Yanks are at a decent 5-1. But what are the odds? 

It is no secret that with a low performance comes a risk of being let go. Injuries and sub-par performances dominated Donaldson’s tenure at the Yankees. This eventually led to him being released last Tuesday. The players apparently get the message loud and clear. 

Since Donaldson’s absence from the team, the Yankees have played against the Houston Astros and Detroit Tigers. Barring one game, they stood victorious in all 5. This leads the MLB world to believe that it’s possible the 2023 season for the Yanks is not jinxed anymore. Speaking of jinxes, the management made yet another drastic move in favor of the team.

Amidst A Terrible Season, The Yankees Showcase A Remarkable Feat

The Yankees recently promoted minor league folks Oswald Peraza and Everson Pereira followed by Jasson Dominguez. to the majors. In the game on Sunday, the new talents showed amazing prospects. Dominguez thrashed a tie-breaking two-run homer leading the Yankees to a 6-1 win over the Houston Astros. He made it happen in the sixth inning that completed the three-game sweep. Aaron Boone expressed, “When he goes up to the plate, there’s not a lot of anxiety. He plays the game with ease“.

This victory was an instrumental milestone for the Yankees, given their history at the Minute Maid Park. During their postseason meet in 2017, back when Judge was a major rookie. They faced a humiliating defeat, mustering three runs in the four games played at Houston against the Astros. Beating them in what unfolded into a competitive game in their home ground was nearly impossible. But the Yankees did it.

The team seems to be getting their mojo back as the new additions bring new vigor. The herculean victory that they achieved against the Astros is proof that the Yankees have not lost their charm after all.
