It has been a dramatic few days for baseball. Punches were thrown, insults were hurled, and benches were cleared. Two players got into a fistfight on national television as the Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox faced off. Tim Anderson and Jose Ramirez made headlines after getting into one of the most vicious fights MLB has seen recently. And it seemed like bad blood persisted even after they were led off the field.

The two looked ready to tear each other apart. White Sox’s Andrew Vaughn had to physically wrap his arms around Anderson and carry him to the dugout. Anderson was missing from the lineup the next day, although Ramirez came back. While nursing his wounds, Anderson took to Twitter to continue the fight.

As of now, no ruling has been given on how Ramirez and Anderson will be disciplined. The incident will not go unpunished and it’s only a matter of time before MLB announces its decision. While Ramirez claimed he was only defending himself because the White Sox shortstop threw the first punch, the latter made no comments. But he’s apparently breaking his silence now.

In a series of nine cryptic tweets, some of which were later deleted, Anderson referenced the fight. In the seventh one, he wrote, “y’all got me fu*ked up fr fr..” The rant gained fan attention as MLB Twitter (X) tried to figure out what exactly was Anderson trying to convey. It seems like he’s not yet ready to take responsibility as the Chicago team decides what to do with him.

In a hilarious moment following the tense fight, Ramirez’s agent shared a picture of the Guardians’ third baseman poking fun at the fight. The ballplayer poses with boxing gloves on the field, mimicking what he did on the field with Anderson as if the two were facing off in a ring. Being a fan favorite, Ramirez didn’t receive as much heat as Anderson, especially following his social media activity.

Baseball Fans Rip Into Anderson

While some of his posts were slightly clearer, like “You know all this happening for a reason” and “keep kicking on me while I’m down..” most were a mystery.

Anderson clearly feels wronged and is letting his resentment show. And while there was a spare few who stood up for the shortstop, most mocked him brutally.

A rare few rooted for him.

Most opined that Anderson should ramp up his skills.

One’s temper can understandably get out of hand sometimes, but one thing that athletes don’t tolerate is disrespect. While each side has its own valid story, some fans are still taking sides. All that remains to be seen is how the league deals with the situation now.
