Jose Canseco and Barry Bonds are two of the best yet the most controversial players to play baseball. What is even more remarkable about their career is that they played in the same era from the late 80s to the early 2000s.

Despite being great hitters, their baseball careers will always have a dark side. Notably, the two reportedly used PEDs (performance-enhancing drugs) during their playing days. Years after his retirement, Canseco even?pleaded?guilty in a steroid case. However, Bonds has never accepted the usage of PEDs, despite a federal grand jury in San Francisco finding him?guilty?of the same.

Once, the Oakland Athletics legend shared a hilarious yet weird incident with Barry Bonds. Not to forget that Canseco has always accepted that he used PEDs.?

Jose Canseco once shut Barry Bonds up

If not for the PEDs angle, Canseco and Bonds had legendary careers in Major League baseball. The only thing that separates them is Canseco has two World Series titles in his name, while Barry Bonds has none.

While talking to DJ Vlad, Canseco opened up about his interaction with the San Francisco Giants legend. The Cuban-American MLB revealed the hilarious interaction with Bonds during the 2000 Las Vegas Home Run Challenge.

?I did one time (on his interaction with Barry Bonds), and it was in the Las Vegas Home Run Challenge… I remember, we were in the locker room… And I took my shirt off, and it was about 255-260 lb. But I was ripped. The media is there, and he (Barry Bonds) screams across the lockout,? Canseco said.

“He goes to quote, ‘Canseco, what the f**k have you been doing?’ And I looked back at him and I said, ‘the same thing you are doing.’ Saying, I am using PEDs, you are doing the same thing. So, he kind of shut up.”

After enjoying their illustrious career, Jose Canseco and Bonds bid farewell to the game in 2001 and 2007, respectively.
