Fan interactions are common for players. They often thank them for their support or interact with them by giving them souvenirs. But the Philadelphia Phillies heightened it to another level. Besides their shining MLB performances, the team outshined other teams in the recent fan interaction. While the star player of the team, Bryce Harper, often acknowledges the fans and their support, now the team owner also indexed himself to the list. On Thursday’s game, the Phillies owner came onto the field after the game ended with an unexpected gesture. The heartwarming event won the hearts of the fans once again.
This season is no less than a dream for the Phillies. Their winning endeavor is still continuing from the regular season. In the first playoff series against the Miami Marlins, they captured it 2-0, progressing another step to the World Series. While that’s already enough for the fans to celebrate, the owner’s gesture has doubled the celebration.

The October campaign is on for every qualified team, and the Phillies have already established their mark by winning the first series. When the proud fans had been already celebrating the victory, they spotted the team owner bringing a bag full of baseballs and started tossing them toward the crowd. He dragged the bag himself and carried it to the stage without any help. It was a complete surprise to the fans, as no other team owner ever approached them with this gentle attitude.

This automatically brings to mind the other examples of team owners who rarely cared for fan sentiments this season. The A’s owner John Fisher and the Yanks Hal Steinbrenner occupy the top slots of this list. The prime example of it is the shifting of the Athletics to Las Vegas, breaking fans’ hearts. To everyone’s surprise, even the ‘Reverse Boycott’ protest of the fans couldn’t move the owner’s decisions. The frustration heightened to the level that fans even claimed to “sell the team.” But every effort from the fans went to vain, as the move will soon materialize.
The Yankees fans are also disappointed and frustrated with its owner’s attitude. Despite calls to remove Cashman and Boone for better team management, Steinbrenner disregards the demands. In contrast, he believed in their abilities and ignored all the fans’ emotions. Though he now planned an audit, fans don’t find it satisfactory. However, Phillies fans have been praising the owner’s gestures.
Fans Praise John Middleton
With his exceptional activity, he set a mark for his fans that the entire MLB world will probably remember after decades. While the fans slam the other team owners after this event, Middleton has inclined his position among the fans.
Fans call him the only nice person in the Phillies: “AWESOME!!! @phillies #Class”
It even seemed a dream to some fans: “What a dream.”
Some acknowledge this act special: “That’s awesome!!! 👏👏👏 I swear, some of the team owners don’t even give 2 💩💩 about their team or the fans!!! This is special.”
