With over three decades of a professional career with the Cincinnati Reds, Fay shared a wholesome bond with everyone. Apart from being a great uncle, husband, and brother, he significantly impacted baseball.

A similar sentiment was visible among various players’ and journalists’ statements about their?friends’ loss due to heart attack.

Reds’ Canadian-American professional baseball first baseman, Joey Votto and the demised Beat Reported have long been friends. Upon the demise of the latter, the former tweeted, “I will miss the coy smiles we shared and the light-hearted moments in clubhouses. May he rest in peace.”

Mike DeWine aka Richard Michael DeWine, the 70 Governor of Ohio, put forward his condolences by saying Fay was a one of the real pros the baseball beat writers. “Sad to learn of the death of John Fay, who covered the Cincinnati Reds for many years for @enquirer.
