Joey Votto may have made his first foray into social media only this year, but he is catching on fast. With the Cincinnati Reds’ first baseman marking his entry on various social media platforms earlier this year, he appears to have got on with the fans. As the Reds took on the Arizona D-Backs in their series opener, Votto saw a girl holding a sign in the stands asking him to dance. And being the ultimate sport that he is, Votto happily obliged.

Joey Votto is one of baseball’s most lovable presences on the diamond. And with the star’s advent onto social media, he is fast becoming a fan favorite. Fully taking his new identity into stride, the star player is interacting with fans as fans will want to see. Goofy introduction videos on Twitter aside, Votto has created an identity for himself on TikTok. With the Reds taking on the D-Backs, Votto created another potentially viral piece duetting with a fan while still on the field.

Joey Votto saw a sign near the Reds’ dugout asking him a simple question for social media. A young girl held up a sign asking Joey Votto to feature in her dance. And Votto was more than happy to comply with the request from near the dugout. A young girl held out a sign that read, “Joey Votto, will you make a TikTok with me?”

Votto, ever the professional, walked over and first got his choreography down straight. After figuring out his dance, the Reds star even took the time to coordinate and complete a dance with the young girl. Her brother filmed the two as they performed their take on ‘The Griddy’. A dance with growing popularity on TikTok.
Votto applauded the fans and high-fived the youngster, who seemed over the moon, with an opportunity to feature with Joey Votto on her account.

Despite a losing record for the season, the Reds held on to a win to start their series. In a cagey affair, the game culminated in a 5-4 win for the Reds on the night, but they have considerable work to do to get going in 2022.
Already 12.5 games behind in the NL Central, it will truly take a herculean effort and big team gains if the Reds want to advance to the post-season. But stranger things have happened in sports, especially in baseball.
