San Diego Padres enter the preseason as a favorite to win the World Series. The Padres are stacked with stars and quality starting players. Given their star-studded batting lineup, baseball pundits believe that the Padres have the best squad in the League. They are currently undergoing Spring Training with many of their stars working out and getting ready for the 2023 season.
Even though the Padres have a brilliant batting lineup, their rotation is still a concern for team management. If not for Yu Darvish, Joe Musgrove, and Blake Snell, the Padres do not have a sound rotation as their star-studded batting lineup. And now, with their key ace getting injured, the Padres seem to be in big trouble.

Musgrove emerged as an All-Star for the Padres last season after having joined the team in 2021. This is one setback for the Padres in what has been a fantastic off-season. They signed Xander Bogaerts and extended Manny Machado, among other deals. But Musgrove’s injury may prove to be an issue.
Joe Musgrove may not return in time for Opening Day
Although Joe Musgrove may start throwing in two weeks, he may not be game ready for longer. This weakens the San Diego Padres’ rotation for the beginning of the season. Musgrove is a star pitcher for the Padres and is a massive part of their bullpen. But they will now have to get creative with their pitching options to start the season.
