Derek Jeter became a role model baseball icon through his MLB legacy. But his playing skills were not the only reason that made him an outstanding icon of the sport. He was as popular for his calm demeanor as his game-changing performances. Jeter yet again exemplified his honorable reputation despite once being taunted by a world-renowned broadcaster during an interview in 2015.

Jeter retired from the baseball diamond in 2014, thus wrapping up his ventures as a player. From then onwards, he understandably became more accessible for interviews. Moreover, he also began boldly addressing the rumors and allegations from his younger years. Thus, Jeter clarified the mist around his image and separated the myths from the facts.

Popular Fox Sports network broadcaster, Joe Buck, began his talk show back in 2015. Titled ‘Undeniable’, the show gave an in-depth look at the lives of legendary athletes through conversations. Jeter was the first-ever guest having graced the show on the opening episode itself. At one point, Buck took a dig at Jeter, but he brushed aside the hit and went ahead in trademark fashion.

When Derek Jeter proved his excellency for the umpteenth time

Derek Jeter had earned the nickname of ‘Mr. Clean’, due to his decent public image. But he also did have a mischievous side to him, which he hid away for the most part during his playing days. That was due to his focus on building his sporting legacy, which he also wanted the media to concentrate on. Jeter had a star-studded dating history, which came to the light in later years.

However, most of what happened in Jeter’s life was also partly rumors and false accusations. He addressed most of his past events on Joe Buck’s talk show. Towards the end, Buck and Jeter got into a more light-hearted mode. So trying to get more revelations out of him, Buck even passed an awkward remark on Jeter.

Buck later recalled the incidents in an interview with CBS Sports Network saying, “At one point, he was playing a little arms-length at me with these funny questions we ask at the end. At one point, I said to him, ‘You’re such a little b*tch. Just answer the question.’ Buck added, saying, “And he laughed, and the crowd laughed, and I took a minute and said, “Wow, I just called Derek Jeter a ‘b*tch’ on TV.” And he had a ball with it.”
