In an interview after the release of the song, Lopez said that ‘The Ring’ was “written about the two of us, but it’s like, not about the two of us. It’s not like I’m like ‘Hey….Where’s my ring?’ No, it’s not like that. I feel like they wrote it because… they want that to happen.”

Therefore, as per Lopez’s explanation, the songwriters didn’t write the song about ‘A-Rod’ and Lopez. But rather to make the public think, it has got something to do with their relationship. ‘A-Rod’ and Lopez began dating in 2017. They got engaged in 2019, but broke their engagement in 2021 and separated their ways. 

A look at Alex Rodriguez’s present-day life 

‘A-Rod’ played MLB for the Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers, and the New York Yankees, respectively, until retirement in 2014. Post-retirement, he became a businessman, broadcaster, and analyst. He is allegedly dating fitness model Jaclyn Cordeiro, but the status of their relationship isn’t clear.
