The New York Yankees have yet to have a record they can proclaim pride in 2023. Despite 71 wins to their name, the Yankees will be greatly upset by the losses that they have had this season. Drawing closer and closer to the last day of the season, the Yankees are ever closer to breaking their 30-year streak of ending the season without a losing record. Although not all down to luck, it had had a part to play. Recently, even more so.
The Pinstripes have been plagued with injury issues, making the 2023 season a start-stop affair for them. While initially on a great run of form, the untimely injury to captain and 2022 Homerun King Aaron Judge saw them first slip up. The recent resurgence, seeing the Yankees make a late run in for the post-season, may also be interrupted by the injury bug. The injury has the Yankees fans believing that it just isn’t to be their year.

While tough to come upon any conclusion, it’s not hard to see that the Yankees haven’t exactly had the rub of the green this season. While Judge spent a significant portion of the season out with a broken toe, the Bombers dropped out from contention for the AL East in a stretch of games.
With the late season push for the post-season being helmed by the batting prowess of recent additions Jasson Dominguez and Austin Wells to the Yankees roster, it appears the Bronx Bombers have been dealt with another major blow. With journalist Bryan Hoch reporting, the Yankees just can’t seem to get going.
Jasson Dominguez, monikered the Martian for his otherworldly hitting ability has been recently taken out of the batting lineup for the Yankees with a right elbow inflammation and is now operating day to day for updates. While initial news has not been positive, the possibility could be that Dominguez does not return for the rest of the season.

Reportedly, Dominguez seems to have suffered a torn UCL that could see him exit not just the 2023 season, but also see recovery take him out until late into 2024.
Fans React to the News of Jasson Getting Scratched From the Yankees Lineup
While the news appeared to be only about the Yankees losing a single player, the fans seemed to trust that it was another twist of fate just as they were gathering momentum. Almost certain it was bad luck, social media was flooded with their reactions.

Most fans were simply upset with how their team had gone, but some fans even chose to bemoan the luck that they had and how it just seemed to never really get any better in 2023. With their chances for qualification to the post-season already slim, the Yankees post-season appears to be slipping away.

Meanwhile, other fans seemed to find some fault with the trainers of the Yankees, implying that they could have somehow made sure the injury was averted.
The Yankees need to replace their entire strength and conditioning staff and medial staff. They need to a better job focusing on recovery from day to day. This team has so many injuries

The Yankees will look to improve their record to at least get to a 0.500 rating and keep their streak alive. But with a tough run of games coming up, they could be set up to fall short very soon.
