It has been a tough season so far for Jameson Taillon. The right-hand pitcher recorded an ERA of 6.15 and could claim 63 strikeouts in all the appearances. He also holds a poor 3-6 win-loss record. Given a hefty $68 million contract, fans found his performances could have been better. But the 31- Year-Old proved his critics wrong by being the chief contributor to Cubs’ 3-0 win over the Yankees.

Taillon pitched perfectly to shut out the Yankees, helping his team win a first road game in New York. He pitched in eight innings, allowed a single hit, and claimed four strikeouts without giving a single run. Yankees Videos shared a clip of his conversation, describing the win otherwise amidst revenge calls.
"I have a lot of love for those guys over there, so it's not like I wanted to stick it to them. This wasn't like any sort of revenge game or anything like that."

Notably, Taillon reflected on the outing,” I mean I just needed an outing like this period.” He also contradicted the calls of a revenge game and shared his feelings about playing against his former team.
He said, “I have a lot of love for those guys over there, so it’s not like I wanted to stick it to them. This wasn’t like any sort of revenge game or anything like that.” In his concluding remarks, he subtly acknowledged both the victory and the game’s significance in New York City.
Taillon shared, “When you play with guys for a couple years, you’re in the trenches with them and there’s a lot of love for all those guys and staff and everyone over there. So I wasn’t thinking of this as like a revenge game or anything, but it does feel good on this stage in New York City to have a good night.”
Fans, too, expressed their thoughts on witnessing a former Yankee donning a different uniform.
