Baseball might be a sentimental sport known to trigger players and fans, but its true spirit still lies in competition and control. It’s only a few times before emotions really boil over. Such was the case when the Cleveland Guardians took on the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. The game saw the diamond turn into boxing ring dividing the social media. And soon influencer turned boxer Jake Paul taking on former MMA fighter Nate Diaz in a matchup on Saturday night didn’t stay far from action for long.

Jake Paul took to social media to make sure his opinion was known, exciting fans for a new potential matchup.

The Brawl on the Diamond

As the Guardians matched up with the White Sox, most expected to watch baseball. Instead they were treated to a complete boxing match up at the bottom of the 6th. Jose Ramirez connected for an RBI double and while on base exchanges a few words with shortstop Tim Anderson. While unclear what was said, it was apparently enough to have them both squaring up.

Anderson soon collapsed after a punch from Ramirez caught him out.

The brawl rustled up reactions from around social media inciting a tweet from Jake Paul too. And in an unexpected turn, the fans seemed to be expecting Ramirez to match up in the boxing ring next.

Jake Paul, an Ohio native, is an influencer turned professional boxer. And with the star making waves, he spare no time in sharing his allegiance to the Cleveland 3rd baseman’s camp.

Paul posted a picture with Ramirez on Twitter captioning it, “For the Land. We different,” implying that people from Cleveland, and by extension Ohio were built different. But while Paul seemed to be picking his side in the brawl, the fans were excited about a potential match up.

“The Fight We Need Next”

Jake Paul has recently turned a leaf and is now making his name as a professional boxer to the best of his abilities. Improving his record to 7-1 with a win over Nate Diaz on Saturday, Paul will be looking for his next match-up. And according to the fans, Jose Ramirez could well be the perfect foil. With the ball player already proving his right hook, the two could square up in an explosive match-up.

The internet however was still split on how the fight would pan out. Jake Paul has yet to convert any commanding victories over his opponents. And even for a potential match up the fans were quick to point that out.

The belligerent guards that resurrected from the baseball ground have surely created the hype for another uncanny encounter. But most likely the star-showdown is likely to stay a far-fetched faceoff.
