Detroit Tigers legend Miguel Cabrera is enjoying his final MLB season while representing Motor City. The iconic power-hitter is set to hang up his boots after an accomplishment-filled career. Amid his final year in the League, Miguel is being honored by various teams. Most recently, a former World Series-winning teammate presented him with multiple gifts. 

This happened during the Tigers’ latest series against the Texas Rangers. Cabrera has been having fun while playing his last MLB season, looking to make some great final memories. This gesture from a former teammate and the Rangers’ organization is a class act. 

Ivan ‘Pudge’ Rodriguez honors Detroit Tigers icon, Miguel Cabrera

In a pre-game ceremony, Ivan ‘Pudge’ Rodriguez presented Miguel Cabrera with several touching gifts. What made it special is that Rodriguez and Cabrera won the 2003 World Series together on the Miami Marlins. Furthermore, they also spent some time together as teammates in Detroit. Rodriguez handed his former teammate several gifts on behalf of the Rangers’ organization.

These included a collage of photos of the two of them, a $5,000 donation to Cabrera’s charity foundation, and a custom-made saddle. Talkin’ Baseball shared details about the gifts via a Twitter update.

This was a meaningful moment that allowed the Tigers’ icon and his former teammate to go down memory lane. Furthermore, Cabrera even helped the Tigers take the win over the Rangers in the series opener. He had two hits and made an impact. The legendary power hitter announced his retirement in November last year. He received a retirement gift from another organization earlier in the season. 

Astros honor Cabrera’s career with a classy send-off!

Earlier in the MLB season, the Houston Astros honored Miguel Cabrera before a game. The team’s skipper, Dusty Baker, gifted him a bottle of wine and a cowboy hat. Following that, Astros stars Jose Altuve and Luis Garcia presented him with another bottle of wine, but this time the entire team signed it. It was a truly touching moment as they recognized the power-hitting legend’s brilliant career.
