For some people, sometimes dreams really do come true. Kids who love sports fantasize about making it to the big leagues and playing professionally. But of course, not everyone can do it and make it past the tough competition. But when a person does do it, it feels like magic. And it’s exactly how Julio Rodriguez must have felt when he made his MLB debut with the Seattle Mariners in 2022.
Rodriguez took the baseball world by storm when he joined the Mariners in the last season. Winning the AL Rookie of the Year, he left audiences impressed by his performance. Despite it being only his first year, the Mariners took a gamble in trusting the player’s ability. The team offered him a 14-year contract worth $210 million and the outfielder’s reaction was priceless.

At only 22 years old, Rodriguez is already living the dream. The Mariners recently posted a montage video of the outfielder as he goes through his journey of joining the team. His elated and overjoyed reaction to hearing the news and then telling his family is heartwarming to see.
When someone asks him what he sees when he looks at the ballpark, presumable the Mariner’s T-Mobile Park, he has a great answer, “Man, I think that could be home… It’s on, baby. It’s on. We going. We going for this.”
Rodriguez retweeted the video, captioning it, “Don’t let nobody stop you from living YOUR DREAMS!!!💙🤞🏽 #Believeit🍥” In addition to the encouraging message, J-Rod also added the catchphrase from Naruto, where the titular character is big on believing in oneself too.
Baseball Twitter also had an emotional response to the video
Many Mariners’ fans have enthusiastically accepted Rodriguez as one of their own. Ever since his outstanding performance in the minor league, he has been a shoo-in for the MLB. Now that he’s finally here, fans are excited to see what he’ll do next.
In response to his tweet, many congratulated him on his massive contract. Others, who are also Naruto fans, tweeted out GIFs from the show, offering support in their own way.
