In the modern MLB world, Yankees captain Aaron Judge is one of the best hitters of the ball. As a result the reigning AL MVP has become a big name in the League, garnering a lot of attraction. His latest association with the Nike Air Jordans is a perfect exampleis a testament of it. Given that it put him ahead of his competitor, Shohei Ohtani, Judge is enjoying his top-of-the-world off-the-field time. But was there more to it when he went for his first official shoot for the brand?
The face of the Yankees in the MLB recorded his official video for the Jordan brand. During the shoot, Judge answered many questions, including his technique to hit home runs. But the most noticeable part is about the state of his liking.
California Born Aaron Judge Chooses New York at Last
Jordan Brand’s latest addition, Aaron Judge, was a guest on one episode of Mini Hoops. Although during the episode, the host asked a lot of questions, the one about choosing between New York and California became the point of attention.
This particular question garnered attention from every corner as the Yankees captain stopped for some seconds before answering the question. While making a shocking revelation, he said “Born and raised out in California, but I think I’m a New Yorker now. That’s in my blood now. I think it’s got to be this New Yorker right now.” The pause was obvious because of Judge’s upbringing in California, but he chose New York due to the Yankees and his record of 62 home runs speaks for itself. However, there was much more to the conversation.
Judge talking about his home run scoring shared his method of hitting home runs, ” You know, first off, you get in a good, strong stance, right hand over the left. And then for me, it’s just kind of where your hands feel comfortable. I kind of keep them out here, but I feel like I can be quicker to the baseball that way. And then when you see the pitch come in, take your swing, and you kinda hold it for a second.”
This was visible in his power hitting in the video when he knocked a ball onto the Statue of Liberty. However, it seems his collaboration with Nike is brewing fruits for him and can help him score more as the Yanks fight for the playoffs.
Judge Continues to Benefit From His Deal With Jordan
The past week has been fruitful for the Yankees captain. He has accumulated a total of six runs through five successful hits. Additionally, he has achieved five home runs and has registered RBIs under his name, making him the best performer on the team. The team benefitting from it is now nine games behind the possible playoff spot.
Given the Yankees continue to play like this with Judge continuing to contribute, they can make it to the playoffs. And as it has happened only after Judge’s latest deal with Jordan, he would like to draw more inspiration from the same in the upcoming games.
It will be interesting to see how much he will benefit from it in future games. What are your thoughts on this? Share them below.
