After months of the ban by the Premier League Board and the UK government, the LA Dodgers co-owner Todd Boehly’s $5.3 billion bid to buy Chelsea, has received the green light from the UK government and the Premier League Board.

Notably, after the war between Ukraine and Russia, the UK government sanctioned the Russian business tycoon, Roman Abramovich, and Chelsea. After that, the former Chelsea boss put his club on sale. And now, after months of sanctions, the Premier League club is set to get its new owner.

Under the ownership of Roman Abramovich, Chelsea won every possible title in soccer. During those 19 years, Chelsea won 21 titles, including five Premier League titles and two UEFA Champions Leagues. One may have their opinion about Roman Abramovich. But no one can deny he ran Chelsea with full passion.

After LA Dodgers and LA Lakers, Todd Boehly set to buy Chelsea

Todd Boehly is a big fan of sports. So big that he owns two of the biggest sports team in the world. And if everything goes right, he will own a third sports team. With the LA Dodgers of MLB and LA Lakers of NBA, and now Chelsea of Premier League, Boehly will probably become the first person to own three major teams of different sports.

However, some sports fans are not happy with the invasion of American owners over the Premier League teams. Notably, Manchester United and Liverpool also have American owners.

Taking to Twitter, fans reacted to Todd Boehly’s Chelsea takeover. One fan warned soccer teams to be aware of American owners. He said that it’s all about money.

Another fan suggested banning the American owners from buying a soccer team, while a sports fan supported the new ownership of Chelsea. He said that Chelsea will thrive under Todd Boehly, like the LA Dodgers in MLB and LA Lakers in NBA.

The new season of the Premier League will start in August, till then the Dodgers owner will have enough time to make some changes in Chelsea and make them a competitive side.
