Bidding farewell to his playing days in 2014, Jeter still had the desire to contribute to the game. So, after concluding his playing days for the Yankees, he took up an administrative role. Derek Jeter on the frustration of being an onlooker

Baseball legends Derek Jeter and Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez recently got invited to the ‘KayRod Cast’ show. Popular American sports broadcaster Michael Kay is the host of the podcast. Many sporting stalwarts grace the show from time to time. So Jeter and ‘A-Rod’ too were guests in a recent episode.

Jeter replied, saying, “No, I watched. But it was tough to watch. You can’t impact the outcome in a game. You sit there and you see the game through your own lens. And how you would go about doing it. Or how you would go about playing. But it’s very frustrating to actually watch and have zero impact on the outcome of the game.”

Life as the Miami Marlins CEO

Unfortunately, Jeter did not enjoy a successful career as a franchise administrator. His reign as a Marlins CEO and co-owner was not as impactful as his playing tenure. So, he resigned from the role in 2022.
