“We didn’t try to have a public relationship. We just happened to be together at the birth of the tabloids. And we were kind of the hot couple at the time, you know?” Lopez told PEOPLE TV. Interestingly, she had already started dating A-Rod by that time but as is the curse for those in the limelight, their past never leaves them. “And we may have played into that at the beginning because it was fun and then it was not fun. Then it was like destroying us.”

Even With Alex Rodriguez, It Was Never Supposed To Last

While it may have seemed like a fairytale from the outside, something cold was brewing behind the scenes. As per multiple sources, the Get on the Floor singer had trust issues with Rodriguez that she could never get over. There were even rumors of A-Rod cheating on Lopez, which she supposedly never forgave.

Perhaps the continuous postponement of the wedding was a clue to the bitter end that would follow. Ultimately, it was Affleck that Lopez was meant to be with. Today the ex-couple seems to be happy with their respective partners.
