Hal Steinbrenner isn’t the most loved of names in the world of baseball. The 53-year-old Yankees’ owner can be most kindly described as a polarizing figure. Some would consider him calm and collected in contrast to his late, renowned father. But he is also widely considered to be aloof, uninterested, and primarily responsible for the recent decline in the New York Yankees‘ fortunes.

However, irrespective of his doubtful and contentious image, the heir of the Yankees Empire is a man who, even if unwillingly, finds a way into the public eye due to the position he holds. However, for a person under such public scrutiny, his personal life has always been under wraps.

Does Hal Steinbrenner have a special someone in his life?

A self-professed aviation geek, the billionaire son of George Steinbrenner, is indeed married. In 2009, Hal married New Yorker Christina DiTullio. The couple is said to have met and started dating in 2007 on a blind date set up by a mutual friend. From that point on, their connection grew to the next level.

Soon after, in 2009, the couple went on to get married at his father George’s horse estate in Ocala, Florida. In what is rumored to be a private affair with only close friends and family in attendance, the wedding saw the bride’s pet dogs elegantly dressed up in bow ties too.

The couple apparently found common ground in terms of their personalities. But interestingly, DiTullio was largely unaware of baseball before meeting Hal. However, things seemed to change years into their marriage. Yankees-related events often saw here in the audience, even without her husband’s company. That being said, DiTullio also seems to have found her place in the high-profile Steinbrenner household. But before her, there was someone else.

Not the first time Hal tied the knot

Harold Zieg Steinbrenner, or Hal, had a previous marriage that ended in divorce in 2007. Married to Christina Lavery, the couple parted ways after 12 years of union. They also have a daughter, Katherine Steinbrenner, from their marriage. Weeks after the couple split apart, Hal was introduced to DiTullio, and the rest is history.

With all the commotion on and off the field, what’s certain is that the Steinbrenner family will remain at the helm of affairs in the Bronx in the foreseeable future. And in such a charged atmosphere, it is only certain that there will be more eyeballs on personal and professional lives.
