Ohtani’s fitness has always been a subject of intrigue amongst MLB fans. Despite the star consistently turning in game-winning performances, the question has always been how long this lasts. And his body seems to have finally let up as suggested by the latest tweet from Los Angeles Angels reporter Jeff Fletcher.

Speaking to the media, LA Angels manager Phil Nevin said that the star will miss his next start from the mound against the Rangers later this week. Said Nevin, “I trust him when he talks about it. He?s assured me there?s no pain, there?s no injury. He?s got some regular arm fatigue that some go through at times. I trust him when he tells me this, and he?ll be ready for his next time out.

The LA Angels would feel a significant loss if Ohtani was to have to sit out any part of the season. While missing out on the AL MVP in 2022 behind a historic hitting season from?New York Yankees?star?Aaron Judge, Ohtani has returned roaring in 2023.

Ohtani has been consistent from the plate too. Having pitched over 130 innings so far, Ohtani only has a 3.17 ERA. He is 10-5 in 22 starts and turns in performances like these for fun.

His loss would be a crucial miss for the LA Angels as they ramp up preparations to end their post-season drought. However, Manager Nevin has assured the fans that there is nothing to worry about.
