Even though it has been years since Derek Jeter bid farewell to the game, the New York Yankees legend remains a household name in the MLB world. His impact on the sport of baseball is so great that when playing, he was a synonym for the sport. However, it is a pity that his kids could not experience the same. While it may sound unbelievable, Jeter’s kids consider him a pro in a different sport.

In a recent discussion with Access Hollywood, Derek along with his wife Hannah Davis spoke at length about their kids and their upbringing. The couple who welcomed a new bundle of joy, a son, answered questions that shed light on their daughters’ innocence. It seems that Jeter’s children were unaware of his baseball greatness, instead mistaking him to be someone else. 

Derek Jeter’s Own Daughters Don’t Know of His Greatness

While discussing career choices, Derek and Hannah were asked what chances their son had in baseball when he grew up. Hannah took the lead in answering the question. She said that they only wish for their kids to be happy and successful in whatever they choose to do. It was too early to nudge them in the direction of choosing a career. Proving that, she added how innocently their girls drew comparisons to a Pro golfer.

“Our girls now don’t even really know what their dad did for a living um up until this point. At one point I think they thought he played golf he, was a golfer, a professional golfer,” Hannah said with a laugh. The former New York Yankees star weighed in by adding a tinge of humor, “No one has anything thoughts in their head about professional golfers no not at all”.

The 5x World Series Champion’s daughters unintentionally belittling his Hall of Fame career and thinking of him as a pro golfer made him and his wife chuckle. Talking from the angle of a parent, he said that no matter what his kids wish to do professionally, he’d prefer them to play at least a sport. As a seasoned sports person, Derek has learned life lessons through sports and he wishes for his kids to learn the same.

One such lesson he may wish their kids to learn is to keep their lives private and share the fun little tidbits of life occasionally, just like how he does.

Leading A Private Life Is A Way Of Life For the Jeters

While in the same conversation, Jeter’s model wife said, “I am really terrible at social media”, validating why most of their lives are kept away from the eye of the public. This way of life is what comes to the Jeter family “naturally”. 

The couple elaborated that not only is their privacy important but also, their kids. Their lives are merged with their kids making it nearly impossible to segregate what should be filtered from social media. And that’s how the power couple ace parenting.
