Justin Verlander may have written himself into MLB lore with his performances, but that’s nothing to say for what his daughter thinks of him. In fact, his partner Kate Upton believes that their 2-year-old daughter, Genevieve, is not even fully aware of Verlander’s reputation in MLB.
With Verlander now 38 and winding down his stint in MLB with the Houston Astros, Genvieve, his daughter thinks her father does something different entirely.

Verlander has had a storied MLB career. From dominating the mound as a part of the Detroit Tigers to finally switching over to the Houston Astros and scoring that elusive pennant in 2017. However, with his age catching up, Verlander has found starts fewer and farther in between.
And with his baseball involvement in a downturn, Verlander has picked up a new hobby, Golf. So much so, that his daughter actually might think he’s a professional golfer.
Kate Upton reveals what their daughter thinks of Justin Verlander’s profession
Supermodel mom, Kate Upton, recently spoke about what their daughter thinks of Justin Verlander. Appearing on a talk show with host Jimmy Fallon, Upton spoke about how it may be her daughter just making an honest mistake. Said Upton, “She’s seen him golf more than she’s seen him play baseball.”
“I think she thinks he’s actually a golfer,” she added. Upton realized this when the mother-daughter duo was watching a golf tournament together. “When we were watching the Masters the other day, she was like, ‘Daddy! Daddy’ I was like, ‘No, that’s not what he does. He’s not that good,’ “said Upton, teasing her husband a bit.
Verlander’s MLB Legacy
She added, however, that Verlander is having several sessions with his daughter watching back highlights from his performances over the years. Any father would want their daughter to know what they do. And for someone as competitive as Verlander, it must be that much more important.
However, the superstar pitcher can rest easy knowing that as his daughter gets older, she will surely realize her father’s legacy. Even if only through his performances in MLB. Despite his initial post-season hiccups, Verlander secured the pennant in 2017 with the Houston Astros.

Verlander is an eight-time All-Star and two-time AL Cy Young Award winner. Add to that one of MLB’s brightest pitching prospects. And to have done so consistently is no lightweight achievement either. Rest assured, it is Genevieve that has some catching up to do with her father’s legacy in MLB.
