Is Juan Soto worth the rumored $700 million, or is it an overvaluation?

Juan Soto is now scheduled to become a free agent. The World Series might have ended in disappointment for Soto, but 2024 is far from over for him. Soto’s free agency is far different from others because it has left both the small market and big market teams excited. The 26-year-old is definitely a player for the future, which makes him an ideal investment – Soto has proved that he can perform at the highest level.

Juan Soto has made it clear he will think about all possibilities before signing his next contract. During a recent interview with the New York Post, he shared his honest opinion, claiming, “You never know. We’ll see where we’re at. It’s definitely a tough game to be my last. I don’t know all the teams that are after me, but I’m definitely open to listen.”

Furthermore, Soto noted, “I don’t have any doors closed. I’m available to all 30 teams.” According to Jon Heyman, the New York Yankees are prepared to give a 13-year deal to their star performer. But this is not the only deal he has been offered, and reports suggest that Juan Soto has about eleven teams running after him.

Juan Soto has attracted multiple teams since the end of the World Series final

According to New York Post’s Jon Heyman, “within two hours” of the World Series, surprisingly, eight teams have contacted Soto. Interestingly, that number has now grown to 11 by Thursday morning, which may not be a surprise to many. In simple terms, it means Juan Soto had woken up executives of at least 11 teams, and the numbers might still be growing, looking at his potential. According to Heyman“$700M is the number floating around” for Soto.
