Barry Bonds, also known as the home run king, was one of the most dominating batters in Major League Baseball. His batting prowess and great hitting ability made him a superstar that barely a few were able to compete with. Now, on January 30, he revealed a secret on the Foul Territory that the main objective is to focus on the pitching. It would not only make a player technically better but also improve the hitting ability.
Barry Bonds was nearly good at everything. He was born into a family of athletes and developed a talent for sports, where he made a big impact over the years. Barry was the one who hit 73 home runs in a single year, 2021, and had 762 home runs in his entire baseball career, which is massive. Barry Bonds reveal something to improve hitting ability
Barry Bonds, the former San Francisco Giants, has been a legend in the modern baseball world. While physical strength plays a major role in hitting, having the ability to make proper judgements is what makes Barry special. “Your main objective is only you and the picture. If you can focus on just that and isolate everything else out of your mind, your success rate technically is better.” Barry shared his beliefs by referring to the pitching on the Foul Territory podcast, telling the rising stars to focus on that.

What did he specifically mean by that? Well, Barry’s mastery in batting practice helped him to control wherever the ball went after being thrown at high speed. He even said that he might not be able to use that person if he had a line drive to second base. However, in case he doesn’t try to hit the same spot that he might miss while trying to hit it over the head of the thrower, he would lose focus while trying to do two things at once. Thus, Barry Bonds believed that the focus should be on the opponent in front of him, which could help to make great contact with the ball and improve his hitting ability.
Barry Bonds has some suggestions for the MLB prospects
Major League Baseball has always been a challenging game. While every pitch brings something new to the table, the hitting ability is a major aspect Barry Bonds always prioritized. The Home Run King has compared the present generation with the past generation, where players like him used to spend more time in batting practice. Now, Bonds has suggested the young MLB prospects take batting practice whenever they can, be it morning, afternoon, or evening. He considers the new prospects very skilled and has advised them to master the batting practice by facing some guy who throws at 72 miles per hour. But will that be possible for the new prospects?

Well, Barry Bonds suggested to them that in case a ball came to them at a high speed, they could compress it with their perfect technique. He even mentioned using physics to hit the ball, which could help them control it whenever and however they need to. Barry wants the players to push more in their batting practice and even get multiple swings, which would eventually land them in a better position. But that’s not the end! Barry made some suggestions for the modern-day great—the Los Angeles Dodgers superstar, Shohei Ohtani, referring to his pitching ability. He told Ohtani to come as a reliever, given that he is quite strong in that position and a great slider too. However, he made it clear that he wants Ohtani to remain consistent in what he does best rather than trying to change.
