Over the decades, MLB history has recorded a unique list of hitters and pitchers. Whether on the mound or the plate, they have shown their talents to achieve the biggest triumphs; a rare few have done it multiple times. One such record is currently only associated with only three players, but the Texas Rangers’ star shortstop will probably make his way to that elite list soon. With the club getting closer to their first-ever World Series victory, the probabilities and speculations around Corey Seager are getting stronger.
Though the Rangers? journey received a temporary pause in Game 2, the team has revived the pace. As the team is only one step away from the Commissioner?s Trophy, it is probably the perfect time to ponder over whether the potent MVP contender of this season, Corey Seager, will join the legendary list of Bob Gibson, Sandy Koufax, and Reggie Jackson.

The World Series MVP award is a special notch in baseball players’ belts. It highlights the most incredible performance throughout the October campaign, so the fight is tougher than it seems. Most players never get to achieve it, most get it maybe once. However, the MLB history has some legends who have achieved it more than once. Bob Gibson, Sandy Koufax, and Reggie Jackson are the only three players in the long Major League history to have the World Series MVP award twice in their careers.
Throughout these years, no one has ever touched this record. However, with Corey Seager, the Texas team will probably touch the milestone. Seager won the World Series MVP in 2020 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 2023 too, he is one of the biggest potential contenders for this award, but fellow names on the list are equally excellent. The list includes Marcus Semien, Merrill Kelly, Tommy Pham, and Ketel Marte, among others.
If Texas wins this season, Seager will likely be the top favorite to win the MVP. Throughout the postseason, the shortstop has been maintaining one of the greatest stats of the season. He is playing with a .306 average, 1.136 OPS, 19 hits, 6 home runs, and 12 RBI. He even contributed a long home run in Game 4 to lead his team.
However, other Rangers played their parts well to have the 11-7 victory.

Though Seager has been doing an incredible job in the Fall Classics, Marcus Semien?s contribution can?t be ignored. His two-run triple and three-run homer helped the team to have 10 10-run lead. Coming to the pitchers, Andrew Heaney was a marvel on the mound, allowing only four hits in five innings. The relievers were no less, with closer Jos? Leclerc getting the final out.
