Well, recently answering the same question, Jeter revealed a reason behind his absence from the football field.

Given the popularity of football, athletes often played it along with other sports during the high school and college years. But Jeter was not the same. While in a conversation with Cage Lawyer during an episode of Arena Club, Jeter revealed the exact reason.
The reason unfolded when the host talked about the NFL, Barry Sanders. He said, “In the 90s, one of the cool things for an old man like me was a die-cut card. So if you look at this card, you think cards are rectangles. This card actually is cut to be shaped like a football.” To this, Jeter gave an interesting answer, which also answers curiosity about his take on football.

He replied,” I did not play football when I was growing up because I was scared to death to play football, so I agreed to that trade just out of fear.”

Even though Jeter jokingly answered, it also pointed toward his love for baseball. Because of it, Jeter was destined to achieve greatness in baseball. Now he looks to put his experience into play as an MLB analyst.
Jeter continues to shine, but in a different role
Since his retirement, there was always a question of whether Jeter would work in the studio. After a delay, the world found an answer to it after he joined FOX MLB studio.
His first assignment was the London Series in June; since then, he has been a familiar face to the viewers. After that, Jeter also oversaw his first All-Star game.
