And given this immense success, most MLB stars crave for an opportunity to play for the Bronx Bombers during their career. But the Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. does not feel that way. 

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has made his dislike for the Yankees clear for a long time now. But he recently made a bold comment that led to backlash from fans of the New York-based team. However, his father, Vladimir Guerrero Sr., an MLB Hall of Famer, recently weighed in on the situation and stated what he told his son.

Vladimir Guerrero Sr. told his son not to make the bold New York Yankees comment

Last year, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. said he would never play for the New York Yankees. He said that he would not sign with them even if he was dead. His father and MLB Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero commented on his comments. MLB Insider Hector Gomez shared the Hall of Famer’s comments via Twitter.

In the Tweet, Gomez said, “Vladimir Guerrero Sr. on Vladdy Jr.’s statements that he would never sign with the New York Yankees: ‘I told him not to say that because he doesn’t know if that is the team that is going to give him the money’.” The Hall of Famer stated that his son doesn’t know which team he may end up on. Furthermore, the Yankees may be the team to offer him the most money when he becomes a free agent.

The Blue Jays star is set for free agency after the 2025 season. By that time, his opinion about the Bronx-based team might have changed. The Yankees are looking good going into the 2023 season and will be aiming for a World Series title.

The New York Yankees have had a somewhat busy off-season as their franchise star Aaron Judge agreed to a long-term deal. Furthermore, they will be going into the 2023 season aiming to win the World Series. The Yankees have addressed the bigger issues in their roster but there are still a few holes in it.
