From the beginning till now, Yankees fans are known to have the highest expectations from the team. ‘The Captain’ Derek Jeter is always known to have praised the Yankee fans and has always called them the best.?
Derek Jeter gave 20 years of his life to the Major Leagues, and to say that fans don’t miss him, would be utterly and completely wrong. His fans miss him, and he misses his fans. He was loved by the fans when he played and is loved even more when he retired from the game.

Before going back to Yankee Stadium last night, the Hall of Famer had a one-on-one conversation with the Yes Network. He talked about the game, fans, and him going for the celebration.

In his words,?“I don’t care how much success you have post-playing career, there’s nothing you can do or have fifty thousand people chanting your name. I really can’t think of another job or another profession in the world, so yeah, you miss it. I still hear it sometimes when I’m asleep (laughs).”
The shortstop has always praised his fans and has called them the best multiple times even after getting criticized by them a few times.
Last night, Jeter did not have to miss his name chanted by the best of the fans.
Why does Jeter call the Yankee fans the best?

One such example from Jeter was,?”In 98′ we had basically won the division in April, and we had a little bad streak there at the end of the year. And I’m walking down the streets, and people are yelling at me telling me, we better turn it around. I mean, we won 125 games that year, but they pay attention, and they have high expectations. I think that brings out the best in people.”?
