Derek Jeter’s way of running a family qualifies as a rule book for parents. The former New York Yankees’ star has worn multiple hats, of a shortstop, baseball executive, businessman and that of a doting father. Though he played for over 2 decades for the Bronx Bombers and retired with 5 world series to his name, his charm only increases by the day. One primary reason for that is his ideologies as a parent.
Jeter graced an episode of Access Hollywood with wife Hannah Jeter in a candid talk about family, life and career. While the ever so private couple answered some tricky questions, the one about their kids future career choices was quite thought provoking. Derek Jeter won hearts with his out of the box ideologies.

Upon being asked whether any of his girls or son would have a future in baseball, he broke his silence with a mature answer. “I want my son, I want my daughters to find something that they’re passionate about. I don’t care what it is, I really don’t care what it is,” said the father of four.
Adding further to it, he said, “I would like for them to play a sport because I think you learn a lot of life lessons playing sports you know or setting goals and teamwork working together um failure”.
Yankees’ esteemed Hall of Famer perfectly translated his experience into words. What better way to bring up kids than using one’s own experience? Though there was a tad bit of sportsman in those fatherly words, he asserted that he would want his kids to identify their passion. Whatever it would be, as long as one condition was satisfied.
Hannah and Derek want their kids to be happy with the choice of career they make. If their kids would be happy pursuing their passion, they would support them. Well, this is not the only thing the Jeter duo are on the same page about.

The Jeters are innately private people. Though both Hannah and Derek have been extremely successful in their careers they choose to live a low key life. There are little moments that the family allows a sneak peek into ever so rarely. However, most of their choices are now keeping in mind their kids’ privacy.
33-year-old, supermodel and mother Hannah elaborating on privacy said, “It’s just finding that like I don’t know that middle ground where it’s like you know you’re giving a glimpse but not not too much and of course respecting you know their privacy”.

This strengthens the fact that what’s private cannot be compromised. This proves they are building a well-guarded environment for their kids to grow up.
