Jazz Chisholm Jr. loving the Yankees—Is he the spark they need for a World Series run?

Jazz Chisholm Jr. loves wearing his pinstripes and has been vocal about it. After being traded by the Miami Marlins, he did not waste any time to make his impact on his new team. On his debut, Chisolm Jr. helped the New York Yankees secure an 8-2 win over the Red Sox. But for Chisholm, coming to the Yankees meant so much more; it was his dream.I think I was born to play in New York. … I feel like because the lights are bright, and I feel like when it’s shining the brightest and when it’s more pressure, it feels a little bit better I play,” said Chisholm Jr. Plus, along with Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, he has helped the team throughout.

Soto’s efforts paid off, as now, the Yanks have finally clinched their playoff spot. The New York Yankees won over the Seattle Mariners with a 2-1 score. While the Mariners fell further from their wild card; for the Yankees, it was a ticket for the October baseball. The club was celebrating, and Chisholm Jr. just had that childlike excitement during the entire party. He even made some big claims about what’s next and heart-warming comments in a brief interview.

Jazz Chisolm Jr. has brought electric energy to the Yankees. And he is more than thrilled with his team, and we could see that when they were celebrating for their win against the Seattle Mariners. Chisholm Jr. told YES Network reporter Meredith Marakovits, “I love being a Yankee. These guys are making it great. And we’re going to go win a World Series.” Soaked in champagne, he couldn’t help but still rave about the team. He further mentioned how he wouldn’t go to war with anybody else right now than his team, and that says a lot.

Jazz Chisholm Jr’s energy was infectious as the team celebrated the milestone. But it’s not always the champagne-soaked moments that count. Jazz was the guy that the Yanks needed in their lineup, and in a system that always relied on Judge and Soto, he brought in much-needed relief. At first, the team wasn’t looking his way, but they needed an infielder who could hit. This made them turn to Chisholm, who was playing at Miami as a centerfielder. And given that the Yanks had deep ties in South Florida, the team took a chance. And Jazz has thrived!

Ever since the 26-year-old joined the team, he has racked up stellar stats of.289/.344/.514 line. And not just that, Jazz has brought that youthful energy, swagger, and dynamic play to the team. The New York Yankees are a veteran-heavy club, and Chisholm Jr. turned out to be a great addition to the team. Plus, the rapport he shares with the team is the icing on the cake.

This season if there are two brightest stars, not just in the team but in the season, it is Aaron Judge and Juan Soto. While individually they have been stellar, setting personal records as a duo—they have been phenomenal. Even compared to Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig! And Jazz Chisholm loves the duo too. “I mean, it’s so special. The great guys in this group, we got Judge, Soto. I mean, I can’t keep on naming because I could name 40 guys in here right now. So I mean, we’re just having fun.” Plus, he also revealed that he copied Juan Soto.

Juan Soto poured champagne all over Chisholm Jr.’s phone—but he couldn’t care less. “Oh, so I mean, Juan… I mean, I followed him every day since I’ve gotten here, trying to copy what he’s done,” said Chisholm to the reporter. Plus, he also highlighted what makes Soto special—his willingness to help. Chisholm Jr. said, “And man, he’s an amazing baseball player, but he’s even a better human being. I mean, out here, he’s been helping everybody. Anybody who needs help, he’s been there for them. And I mean, he’s been a great guy and a great teammate. So he’s made a lot, almost everything to me being here so far.” Well, Soto, despite being one of the biggest stars right now, for sure is humble.

However, Juan Soto’s future with the team is on a thin ledge. Soto is set to be in the free agency market, and this means everyone is going to want him. But with a project value of more than $500 million, not everyone can afford to get him on his team. It remains to be seen if the Yankees will be able to keep him in the lineup, though. The Yankees are in an excellent position now, but the competition is strong from the Orioles and the Guardians.

So, they can’t put their guard down, clinching the division title is one of the most crucial for the team currently. Hopefully, they can put the World Series drought to an end this time. What do you think? Share below.
