Even though Aaron Judge is being compared to legends like Barry Bonds, the superstar feels a little differently about it. While the New York Yankees superstar is currently going through one of the greatest runs in baseball history, he still finds it a bit uneasy to compare himself to past greats. Instead, All Rise prefers to live in the present and seek motivation by looking at his teammates. More precisely, looking at Juan Soto.
After hitting another home run (his 25th of the season) Judge was seemingly on cloud nine. Despite his extremely slow April, somehow All Rise has found himself atop nearly every hitting stat in the AL. However, despite his extraordinary antics in May going down the history books, Aaron Judge remains humble. That was visible in his postgame interview where he claimed to not look at numbers of previous greats when thinking about his performances.
“I try to not look up there,” Aaron Judge said. The superstar had been asked about his over .300 average looking similar to the likes of Barry Bonds. Instead, he revealed how he only looks at one number. “Even when I’m hitting .150 I try not to look there. I look at Soto’s stats, and feel good about myself. But it’s still early in the season and trying to put together good at-bats.”

Fans from yesteryear had seen the likes of Bonds and Albert Pujols completely dominate the pitchers. It isn’t surprising that players like that have inspired Judge, after all, he’s the closest we have to them right now. But it is a testament to his team spirit and Juan Soto’s quality that Judge finds motivation from his success.

And that has become another tale of the growing bromance between Soto and Judge. However, while Soto continues to excel, another one of Judge’s closest friends isn’t. But All Rise believes that Anthony Rizzo is closer than ever to a full return.
Aaron Judge continues to believe in Anthony Rizzo despite recent downturn in form
In a game when every New York Yankees hitter got on base, Rizzo was once again the only one who couldn’t do the same. However, defensively the star had a really good performance. So when asked about his teammate’s downturn in form, Judge expressed belief that Rizzo will be back to his best soon.

“He’s close, he’s been in the cage every single day early, late,” Judge said about Rizzo. “Just trying to put his work in. But the results are coming, I think. Just what I’m seeing from the side, and where his body’s at, the positions he’s getting to are a lot better than they were a couple weeks ago.”
Though Rizzo continues to look like a shadow of his former self, Aaron Judge remains adamant in his belief. The star is currently 1-for-34 in June. However, yesterday’s game had a few positive signs with him getting hard hits on three balls. But still, total recovery looks to be a little far. But with positive signs finally beginning to show up, there’s hope that vintage Rizzo will be visible soon.
