It was the time when the former Yankees Shortstop couldn’t think of anything else besides playing for the Yankees. During his 8th grade, the MLB legend, with his friends, was predicting the future for a fictitious reunion after 10 years. On page 13, Jeter expressed, “I was so obsessed with being a Yankee that I predicted it in my eighth-grade yearbook from St. Augustine?s Elementary School. The cover is frayed and dirty now, but it has a cartoonish picture of our school and ?Class of ?88? on it.” Most interestingly, he revealed his prediction was, “Derek Jeter, a professional ballplayer for the Yankees, is coming around. You?ve seen him in grocery stores, on the Wheaties boxes, of course.?

The 2009 World Series Champion later, with his dream-come-true pride, said, “Seriously, I?m glad I have written proof for any cynics who don?t believe I?ve longed to be a Yankee for as long as I?ve been able to dream.”?However, this obsession with the Yankees was his family tradition. He got it from his grandmother.
