The Players’ Tribune uploaded a video in 2016, where Derek Jeter spoke to President Obama about his parents being his biggest role models. President Obama then moved to ask Jeter whether his father’s claims were actually true, or whether he made it up. To which Jeter responded by saying, “It’s the difference because I don’t want to date my dad. But there wasn’t a lot of media attention back in the day.”
Finally, the MLB legend spoke about the few noticeable achievements of his father, and said, “So he had his clippings. It was about two or three pages to sit me down and say one day you may have as many pages as this. I think I got them”

Under Captain Clutch, the Marlins managed to break their 18-year absence from the postseason and arrived at the NLDS in 2020.
