With all the MLB teams wrapping up their third season series, the time for debates is also back. One of the hottest topics of debate for the 2022 season was Aaron Judge or Shohei Ohtani winning the title of AL MVP. After hitting 62 homers and breaking the record of legendary Roger Maris’, Judge took the title home. But does that mean it will repeat this year as well?

Although it might be pretty early to make decisions about the same, former ball player Trevor Plouffe has already made up his mind. His decision is one-sided, and it does not look like it will change. However, Plouffe choosing Ohtani over Judge has sparked a debate among baseball fans over the title holder of AL MVP 2023.

What did the ex-MLB star say about Aaron Judge?

Most recently, Plouffe sat for an episode of the podcast Chris Rose Sports. There, he was asked the question if Aaron Judge has to come close to his last year’s statistics for him to win MVP again.

But Trevor thinks that even if Judge comes close to his historic season, he won’t win this year. In Trevor’s words, “Even if he did the exact same thing, I don’t think he would sniff it. I think Shohei Ohtani would run away with this thing.”

Plouffe continues to say that whenever he watches Judge play, he enjoys it. But for him, the Angels’ two-way phenom is the one and only choice for MVP, and it will remain so. As soon as the clip of Plouffe calling Ohtani better and saying that he deserves the MVP more than Judge, fans started disagreeing with him and called out why Judge will probably win again.

New York Yankees fans do not agree with the former athlete!

Yankees fans, while disagreeing with Plouffe, wrote how Judge deserves the MVP award more than Ohtani. While doing so, they also wrote about Ohtani’s inability to reach the playoffs, considering the Angels haven’t had a playoff berth since 2014.

Following are some of the fans’ reactions toward the question Chris Rose asked about Aaron Judge’s ability to win MVP again.

Meanwhile, a couple of the fans chose to remain neutral.
