Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez have played for over a decade together for the New York Yankees. Say it their stardom or their dominance in their respective fields, Jeter and A-Rod shared a lot of ups and downs while playing for the biggest MLB franchise.

Notably, they were two of the biggest baseball stars during their time. When A-Rod signed for the Yankees in 2004, Jeter was already a Yankees legend and leader of the team. To play for the Yankees, A-Rod even sacrificed his playing position. Because the Yankees already had a solid shortstop in Derek Jeter.

Still, while playing as a third baseman for the Pinstripes, A-Rod continued to shine in Major League Baseball. Recently, when Michael Kay asked Jeter to describe how good A-Rod was in the ballparks, the ex-Yankees captain left clueless for a while to question.

Despite sharing lots of ups and downs in the past, the former Yankees, Derek Jeter, and Alex Rodriguez tend to share a good friendship between them. However, it was quite awkward when ace broadcaster Michael Kay asked Jeter to say something about A-Rod’s game.

Although Jeter said some nice things about his ex-teammate, his momentarily pause hinted was enough for fans to speculate that Jeter was not comfortable doing that.

“Alex is a player… I mean, he could do it all, right? I don’t know how to describe it. You know, hit for average, hit for power, steal bases, play defense, strong arm, a good base runner… He could pretty much do whatever you would want a baseball player to do. So, I think that’s why the baseball world fell in love with Alex,” Jeter said.

Together, Jeter and A-Rod won the 2009 World Series for the New York Yankees. To date, this is still the last World Series that the Yankees have in their trophy cabinet.
