New job, first salary, or in the case of Wynton Bernard, a life-changing promotion. The first person Bernad called was her Ma. Correspondingly, there is nothing more heartwarming on the internet today.

Wynton Bernard spent 11 years in the Minor League. He played in Padres’ farm system, eventually advancing to High-A. From 2014 to 2016, he played in the Detroit Tigers system. Moving on, he got promoted to Toledo Mud Hens – a triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. Post that, he played with San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs in 2018 and 2019. Bernard spent the 2021 season with the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes, an affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.

 

Finally, after spending ten seasons in the minor league, he received his well-deserved and hard-won major call-up in August 2022 with Colorado Rockies. Subsequently, he made his way to the Rockies’ MLB roster on August 12 against Arizona Diamondbacks.

Wynton Bernard and His Trip to the Major League

Before?Wynton Bernard‘s journey in the major league started, he called his mother. The first thing he?said?was,?“Mom, I’m going to the Major League,”?and her reaction was absolutely priceless. Shortly after, she burst into tears of joy and said,?“I can’t believe it.”

As this emotional conversation continued, Bernard teared up, sat on the floor, and said,?“I did it mom… I couldn?t do this without you. Thank you for everything, mom.”?Further, she replied saying,?”You worked hard, you deserve it.”?The conversation went on, and it brought goosebumps. Coupled with tears, Bernard said, “You gave me a lot of inspiration, mom. I promise I will keep working just as hard.”
