It’s only April but Vanessa Hudgens has been having an eventful year already. From shooting a documentary in her mother’s native country, Philippines, to getting cast in a horror movie, the actress has a lot on her plate. But one of the biggest events in her personal life is probably that she got engaged! Hudgens had been dating Colorado Rockies shortstop Cole Tucker for a few years after meeting in a unique lockdown situation. In December 2022, the couple decided to take the next step and finally announced the news to their fans in January.

Since Hudgens is something of a household name in Hollywood, she has been linked to many high-profile names over the years. But after meeting Tucker and spending some time together, the Tick Tick…Boom actress knew he was the one.

Hudgens is a deeply spiritual person, and she believes in the mysterious workings of fate. And when she spent her very first weekend with Tucker, she knew he was the one she was going to tie the knot with.

In a talk on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna, Hudgens discussed the topic of her fiance. When the reporter said, “When you know you know,” Hudgens answered, “One hundred percent. I knew.”. She continued, “After our first weekend together, I called my sister and I was like, ‘I think I just found my future husband.'”

But it seems like the Rockies player manifested a relationship with Hudgens way back in 2012.

Tucker had always been a fan of Hudgens

The 34-year-old actress rose to fame in the entertainment industry with the High School Musical movies. The story of Troy and Gabriella became so beloved that Hudgens skyrocketed into popularity. Among the throng of HSM fans was Cole Tucker. Just a few years before he joined baseball as a professional, he posted on Twitter, “In search of: A girl who’s down to watch High School Musical with me and scratch my back.”

The TODAY show hosts were delighted to read this and suggested the couple frame the tweet and hag it up above their toilet! It seems like this relationship was truly years in the making and finally culminated in the 2020 lockdown.
