The baseball legend Derek Jeter once admitted that he always wanted to play baseball for the New York Yankees. He had a dream. He worked hard for it, and he fulfilled it.?

Jeter played for only the New York Yankees till he retired in September 2014.

Derek Jeter wanted to play baseball for the Yankees for as long as he could remember

At the mere age of 20, Jeter started his baseball career on May 29, 1995. The first game was in Seattle, and he got called to replace an injured player on the shortstop. Even though the first match did not go as planned, Jeter did not take much time to prove himself.

The following day came his big hit, and he showed he was there to do something big.?

On the late show with David Letterman, David asked Jeter, “When did people in your family,.. or when did you get excited about the possibility of … I got something here, I can play ball?”

Jeter’s reply made every fan feel even more proud of him. He said, “For me, it was as long as I could remember. I always wanted to play baseball, and play for the New York Yankees.

When asked if he thought he could do it, the Yankees legend said, “I thought I could. People told me I could.”?

Working hard and believing in yourself can help in fulfilling any dream. And that is what Jeter did. He believed in himself. People around him believed in him. He had all the support he needed and proved himself to the world.?

July 21, 2019, was the day Jeter got anointed in the Hall of Fame alongside Larry Walker, Ted Simmons, and late labor pioneer Marvin Miller.?

After playing baseball for the New York Yankees for two decades, Jeter decided to retire. A walk-off single was how Jeter ended his final game with the Baltimore Orioles.?

Jeter has always said that after he got retired, he wanted to get married. And so he did. He got married to the model Hannah Davis in 2016. They both are proud parents of three beautiful daughters, and he is living his dream.?
