Pitch Fever is sky-high as the Opening Day has officially begun. The player that the baseball world has its eyes on is no other than Japanese sensation Shohei Ohtani. Fresh off a stunning win on the international stage of the World Baseball Classic, the winds of change are flowing through MLB. The two-way phenom is about to change the landscape of the game and he is doing so in a way that has left everyone in awe.?

The Halos’ season debut against the Oakland Athletics was marred by a crushing defeat. However, the game was not without its share of stunning plays and incredible moments. Ohtani?s spine-chilling presence on the mound, helped the team rack up 10 strikeouts over 6 scoreless innings. Although, this was just one example of athletic genius by the team.?

In the bottom ninth inning, Jace Peterson of the Oakland Athletics hit a pitch off Shohei Ohtani and sent it soaring. It looked like it would surely be an extra-base hit. But Hunter Renfroe of the Angels had other plans as he rushed after the ball soaring over his head. He was running a bit off-route but was in the perfect position to make an outstanding catch.?

Renfroe?s instincts took over, and in a split second, he made a spectacular no-look catch that left everyone in disbelief.?

The moment was so incredible that even Sho-time, currently one of the greats of the game, was left clutching his head in amazement. It looks like he can?t forget the moment when he shared the replay of the catch on his Instagram story, with a translated caption from Japanese that simply read, ?Unbelievable.??

There?s no doubt that Shohei Ohtani?s best performance is yet to come?

The dawn of the new baseball season brought with it a rough start to the first game of the season for Shohei Ohtani due to difficulties with his PitchCom device, but he was back to his groove in a split second and displayed his diverse pitching arsenal, leaving opposing rivals befuddled. Right when they thought they had him figured out the two-way sensation unleashed his fastball on the next batter, clocking in at 101 mph.?

His fellow star teammate, Mike Trout could only watch in awe. ?He went from dominant to unhittable,? Trout uttered in disbelief at Ohtani?s performance, according to mlb.com. Despite the team losing, not all hope is lost. The Angels still have plenty of chances to find their rhythm!
