For the NY Yankees today, it’s either one Aaron or the other. However, both are for contrasting reasons. This time, it’s Aaron Boone, manager of the Bronx Bombers, who let his emotions get the better of him as he took on the umpires last night.

Markedly, after playing in the MLB for 12 years and broadcasting for a few, Boone was invited to the Yankee management in 2018. While there aren’t many achievements to talk about since 2018, Boone is a very apt Yankee representative. He’s aggressive, enraged, and always ready to take on opponents or umpires. However, was Boone at fault this time?

Aaron Boone loses his cool, again

Last evening, as the NY Yankees took on the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field, an umpiring mistake brought manager Boone on the field. Notably, Miguel Andújar was two strikes down. Taylor Rogers threw a slider at 79mph that landed outside the box. However, the umpire called ‘strike three, and Andújar had to walk.

Evidently, Andújar was expressively unhappy. Howbeit, manager Boone couldn’t contain his emotions and eventually lost his cool. He walked onto the field and triggered an argument with the umpire. In an attempt to read Boone’s lips, he said, “How do miss that pitch that bad?” Consequently, after the argument went on for a while, the umpires ejected Boone from the field.

Sports writer Eric Boland reported that this was the 8th instance this season where the umpires had to eject Boone from the field. Humorously, he added, “Aaron Boone leads the Majors in ejections this season with 8.”

Eventually, the Brewers beat the Yanks 6-7 at their home in Wisconsin.

Will the Yankees make the postseason?

According to the ESPN standings, the Yankees stand a >99.9% to reach the playoffs. And evidently so. Presently, the Yanks are topping the American League East Division with 87 wins and 57 losses at 0.604. Toronto Blue Jays, who are at number two, are down by a significant difference at 0.566.

To emphasize, the Pinstripes would have to pull off something absolutely extraordinary to not qualify from here. However, they are the Pinstripes. Not to mention, Aaron Boone, who took over as the Yankee manager in 2018, is yet to prove his capabilities by taking them to the World Series.
