Ohtani when playing for Mizusawa Pirates left his teammates amazed with his incredible baseball skills. Shoji Asari revealed that Shotime being a left-handed hitter, consistently hit runs over the right field. Interestingly, the ball crossing the right field directly splashes into the river. Asari later added, “ The cost of lost baseballs began to add up“.”So I jokingly told him, ‘Don’t pull your hits, Shohei!’ added Asari. However, Ohtani’s response to his coach was priceless.

He shot me a dagger-like look, said Ohtani’s coach. Ohtani took the advice and his next homer went to left-field. That moment the Angels star realized the fun of hitting opposite-field. This advice by Asari never left Ohtani’s heart and his remarkable transformation did not go unnoticeable.
