And they’re not taking the victory lightly; as the reigning world champs are hard at work during the offseason, determined to stay at the top of their game and defend their title. 

One player who is leaving no stone unturned is their catcher, Martin Maldonado. With the spring training season fast approaching, Maldonado is putting in the hard work to ensure he’s in peak physical condition. Here’s what he said in a recent interview:

Losing weight can be a daunting task, even for the most disciplined athletes. So when Martin Maldonado revealed that he had shed 17 pounds during the offseason, it was awe-inspiring in regard to his determination and hard work! He pointed out, “It’s so hard, especially when you have two young kids.”

The father of the two kids knew that getting into top shape was crucial for the upcoming season. But with temptation lurking around every corner in the form of sugary treats, staying on track wasn’t easy. Watching his little ones dive headfirst into mountains of candy while he had to resist the urge to join them was probably no easy feat. And it’s a given that everyone has a sweet tooth no matter how much they deny it! But Maldonado stuck to his guns, avoided coke and candy, and worked tirelessly to reach his goal.

Also, as any athlete knows, losing weight is not just about shedding a few pounds – it’s about making sure they’re losing the right kind of weight. Maldonado’s dedication to his physique shows just how committed he is to maintaining his position as a world-class catcher for the Houston Astros. But he has done it and it looks like he’s ready to brew a storm in the upcoming season as well!

Martin Maldonado played like a warrior in the last season 

Martin Maldonado is a warrior in the ballpark. Last year, he showed just how tough he is by playing through not one, but two injuries during the World Series, and still came out on the top.

First, Maldonado had to undergo surgery for a hernia. But that didn’t sideline him. On top of that, he had been playing with a broken right hand where a pitch had hit him, a fact that only came to light after the fact. But that wasn’t enough to slow down the phenom. He missed only two games in the final stretch of the regular season. Which is nothing short of legendary!
