Notably, the Astros defeated the Phillies by 3-2 in a close encounter. And when talking about the Astros victory in Game 5, it will be unfair not to talk about their star outfielder Chas McCormick, who grabbed an outstanding catch to win the game.
The Houston Astros’ outfielder Chas McCormick’s brilliance won Game 5 for the American League champs
Unlike Game 1, the Houston Astros ace Justin Verlander was brilliant against the Phillies in Game 5. And for the first time in this series, baseball fans did not see a one-sided game. Talking about Chas McCormick’s catch, it probably put the win in the Astros bag.
During the 9th inning, when the Phillies catcher J. T. Realmuto hit the ball, he could have got at least double or more. With this, the Phillies could have won the game, but Chas came as an angel for the Astros and channeled his inner Spider-Man to take a spectacular catch.
Taking to Twitter, MLB fans reacted to Chas’ brilliance. Several baseball fans even called this catch the Play of the Year. However, a few fans took a cheeky dig at the Phillies’ for losing two out of three games on their own turf.

One fan even compared the Houston Astros outfielder to Spider-Man considering his incredible catch.
Yeah. Chas cheated. That radioactive stuff that Peter Parker used to become Spider man. Well, Chas got some of it.

However, the Phillies know how to take the game to the end and then defeat their rival. They have reached this stage by doing this the entire season. And given the clutch players they have in Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and Aaron Nola, the Astros will not take their opponent lightly.
Do you think the Phillies will win Game 6 and take the play the decider in Game 7?
