It’s been a hog-killing time in H-town. With a massive three-way battle going on in the AL West, fans have never watched scorecards as closely. In one of the most thrilling division fights seen in recent years, The Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners, and Texas Rangers have given it their all. But only one emerged victorious.
With the Wild Card hanging in the balance, losing was not an option. The M’s fought as fiercely as the rest, but unfortunately, it was the other two that will make it to October. Additionally, despite equal records, it’s The Stars who top the division with their latest victory against The Arizona Diamondbacks. This certainly gives bragging rights to the reigning World Series winners, which Alex Bregman made full use of.

Alex Bregman is a Houston Astros star, but he doesn’t mind playing the villain. Ever since the club’s infamous 2017 cheating scandal came to light, fans around the league have criticized The Astros at every juncture possible. Bregman doesn’t mind mocking the backbiters with his words and his performance. Yesterday was no different.
With their 162nd game won, the Dusty Baker-led team clinched the AL West division title in style. A few losses at crucial points in the season had some worried, but The Astros were out for blood. As they announced the victory on social media, the team posted a video featuring players wearing division champion t-shirts in bright orange team colors.
At the forefront was one of the biggest loudmouths in the league, who addressed his teammates and the camera. “A lot of people were wondering what it was gonna be like if the ‘Stros didn’t win the division,” says the $100 million ballplayer. “I guess we’ll never know.” Echoing Kanye West’s famous Grammys speech, which just so happened in 2017, Bregman invoked the usually infamous rapper.

As soon as he finished speaking, the slugger popped a bottle of champagne, as did his teammates, amidst loud cheers. No wonder, fans were all for it.

Just a few minutes afterward, Chase Field’s visitors’ clubhouse was full of cigar smoke and wet puddles of bubbly. Dusty Baker’s belief in his team held true and, just as the players celebrated their victory together, fans poured in with well wishes online.
